KIMETSU NO YAIBA "ZENITSU AGATSUMA"

Zenitsu Agatsuma

Zenitsu Agatsuma (我あが妻つま善ぜん逸いつ Agatsuma Zen'itsu^?) is a Demon Slayer and member of the Demon Slaying Corps. He is a traveling companion of Tanjiro Kamado and one of the main protagonists of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.

Appearance

Zenitsu is a young man with fair skin and downward-sloped, scared-looking eyes that fade from soft brown to gold. He has short, yellow hair of varying lengths, cutting off squarely at the ends where it fades to a darker orange color, that falls in front of his face in uneven bangs. Before he became a Demon Slayer, Zenitsu's hair was originally black, but it turned the color it is currently when he was struck by lightning during his training.

For a period of time following the battle at Natagumo Mountain, his limbs were temporarily shrunk due to Demonic poison but were able to return to normalcy afterward thanks to the medicine given to him by Shinobu Kocho.

He wears a paler brown version of the standard Demon Slayer uniform, which consists of a dark brown gakuran jacket, a white belt around his waist and hakama pants that extend, as well as his signature white-triangle patterned, yellow and orange gradient haori. As well as this, Zenitsu also sports a pair of tabi socks, tied at the front in 3 white bows, with the same pattern as his haori, and white-laced footwear.

Zenitsu's cowardly nature.

Zenitsu is a coward; always claiming he doesn't have long to live due to the dangerous job of being a Demon Hunter. He also has rather low self-esteem despite his strength, to the point that he thinks he's actually useless, as seen when he couldn't believe he'd slain a Demon that he had, tricking himself into instead believing that it was Shoichi even though the latter was a young child who didn't possess any form of special Demon-slaying ability. Zenitsu is in a constant state of fear and always cries and tries to run away at the sight of danger, claiming he wants to live a modest, normal life, instead of that of a Demon Slayer in which he just thinks he's useless all the time.

However, despite these weaknesses, Zenitsu still wants to live up to the expectations others set up for him and will try his hardest when he is needed to. He holds great respect and admiration towards his comrades and his deceased teacher, Jigoro Kuwajima, and his inner focus and drive in avenging him always help to wash away his cowardice and second thoughts when he's in a pinch.

Zenitsu is also shown to be something of a wannabe womanizer; he tends to hit on girls who he thinks are cute and ask them to marry him, much to their annoyance.^[3] This womanizing nature is shown to override his docile personality, in particular when he believes his comrades are "flirting" with cute girls, he soon snaps and goes in long hysterical rants and complaints. During these times he's also shown to become physically aggressive, lashing out that them in frustration.

Natural Abilities

Enhanced Sense of Hearing: Zenitsu has a heightened sense of hearing, allowing him to detect danger from even the faintest of sounds. He is also able to hear the inner thoughts of people if he uses the sense of hearing to its fullest potential, and he can also use this ability to aid him in locating Demons by comparing the sounds produced by a Demons' body to those produced by a human.

Unconscious Combat: Zenitsu becomes stronger when he sleeps. When his life is in danger, the fear he experiences exceeds his limits and makes him fall unconscious, which is when he reaches his true potential; when Zenitsu is asleep, he can perform his swordsmanship at a high level based purely on instinct alone. However, as the story goes on, he continues to improve his skills and courage and depends on this ability less and less, beginning to showcase the same skill and ability when conscious.

Swordsmanship

Breath of Thunder Style (雷かみなりの呼こ吸きゅう Kaminari no kokyū^?): Taught to Zenitsu by a former Pillar, Jigoro Kuwajima. This technique increases the user's strength and agility to equal a demon's. There are a total of six styles that can be used with the Breath of Thunder, but Zenitsu was so untalented that he was only able to learn the first of the six styles, which is said to be the simplest. Later on, he was able to create a seventh style when confronting his former senior.

• First Style: Thunderclap and Flash (壱いちノ型かた 霹へき靂れき一いっ閃せん Ichi no kata: Hekireki Issen) - The user dashes forward and slashes at their opponent with incredible speed. Zenitsu has honed this ability to the extent of being able to repeat the dash multiple times in quick succession. He usually goes for Six-Fold (六ろく連れんRokuren) (six dashes) but has been able to use Eight Fold (八はち連れん Hachiren)to dash eight times within one use of the technique.
• God Speed (神しん速そく Shinsoku^?) - Zenitsu can utilize this technique to augment the speed of his Thunder Clap Flash further. He is only able to use this ability twice a day. After the second time, his legs become useless.
• Seventh Style: Flaming Thunder God  (漆しちノ型かた 火ほの雷いかづちの神かみ Shichi no kata: Honoikazuchi no kami)- This is the seventh form that Zenitsu created himself. The user creates a dragon-like creature emitting fire and thunder. This form alongside God Speed allows Zenitsu to move extremely fast, allowing him to defeat Upper Moon Six, Kaigaku. Before Kaigaku died, Zenitsu confessed that this form was unique to himself and that he had created it in hopes of fighting alongside him as an equal.

Nezuko Kamado

Nezuko Kamado (竈門かまど禰ね豆ず子こ Kamado
 Nezuko) is the younger sister of Tanjiro Kamado and one of the two remaining members of the Kamado family. Formerly human, she was attacked and turned into a Demon by Muzan Kibutsuji. She is one of the main protagonists of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.

Nezuko has long black hair which she tied into a bun as a human but wears loose as a Demon. It is decorated with several small, light pink ribbons. As a demon, her black hair fades to orange near the bottom. Her eyes are bright pink but were formerly a violet as a human. She carries a piece of bamboo as a gag in her mouth, which is bound by a red tie. She was known to be a great beauty in her home village.

She wears a pink kimono with a star pattern, a red and white checkered obi, and a black haori. On her feet and legs, she wears pink zori sandals, white socks, and blackleg wraps.

Like a Demon, she can change the size of her body. She has also gained sharp fangs, claw-like nails, and slit pupils as a result.

Personality

Nezuko's original personality as a human was that of a kind and caring girl, who thought of others before herself much like her older brother, Tanjiro Kamado. She was a responsible elder sister to her younger siblings.

As a demon, Nezuko seems to have forgotten a good portion of her memories as a human, besides those related to her family. She is still very caring and protective towards other humans who she sees as members of her family due to Urokodaki's influence while she was asleep for two years. She is also rather brazen, and does not seem to fear to fight; she fiercely guards her brother as well as her allies. She also developed strong willpower as she refused to consume human flesh or blood, even in cases of extreme injury or exposure to human blood, such as Sanemi Shinazugawa's Marechi blood.

She still retains her human emotions, as she has been seen to cry and be happy, but in general, she appears more detached than her human cohorts, as well as calmer and less malicious than most Demons.

As a demon, Nezuko does not talk often and stutters a lot. This may be due to her bamboo mouthpiece, which is seldom removed. It also means she is sometimes hard to read. After developing resistance towards sunlight, allowing her to go outside and interact with others more often, her speech has shown signs of improvement, though her intelligence is still at the level of an infant. It is also possible that her speech impediment stems from her not speaking for multiple years, due to her gag.

Synopsis

Final Selection Arc

Nezuko has been asleep since Tanjiro began training. Even after he finished his training for two years and left for the Final Selection, did her state not change. Sakonji Urokodaki had kept her in check since she began sleeping, until Tanjiro has successfully passed the Final Selection and it was only then, when he returned to them, that Nezuko awoke to greet Tanjiro, embracing him and relieving him of his fears.

Abilities and Powers

Demon Abilities

• Size Manipulation: Upon being transformed into a demon, Nezuko displayed the basic ability to change and alter her body's size and height. She was able to shrink herself into the physical size of a small child in order to fit inside a box or a basket in order to hide from sunlight when traveling through the daytime with Tanjiro and could enlarge herself into a much bigger form, in order to be able to battle against demons.
• Enhanced Strength: Despite never being formally trained, Nezuko's naturally enhanced physical strength allows her to easily fight against demons, however, due to being untrained, Nezuko instead relies on simply kicking her opponents or overwhelming them with brute strength instead. Her kicking power depends on her body size, and her kicks allow her to sever Demons head with ease.
• Enhanced Regeneration: Nezuko possesses a tremendous regeneration ability that enables her to restore severed limbs within seconds. The true nature of this ability is solidifying her blood from her severed body parts that she could manipulate at will.

• Demon Transformation: When Nezuko is under the dire situation, she could transform into a berserk-like state, with vines tattoos circling her body, her veins popping out and a single horn protruding from her right forehead side. This form enhances Nezuko's fighting ability, at the cost of her becoming more demon-like, including the need to feed on human blood. So far, the only way she could revert back to normal is to have someone (in her case, Tanjiro) sing her a lullaby. During the Demon Slayer's fight against Hantengu, Nezuko manages to control this form at will.
• Sunlight Resistance: During their battle against Upper Moon Four, Hantengu, Nezuko developed immunity from sunlight, now being able to completely walk and go about in the daytime without being burnt to ash, unlike her fellow demons.

Blood Demon Technique (血けっ鬼き術じゅつ Kekkijutsu)

• Blood Burst (爆ばっ血けつ Bakketsu: Nezuko can ignite her blood that is outside her body, turning them into engulfing flames. However, these flames only affect Demons and Blood Demon Arts, so, for example, Rui's threads or Gyutaro's Poison. Nezuko's flames are also able to turn Tanjiro's Nichirin Blade from Jet Black to Crimson Red, similar to how Yoriichi Tsugikuni has turned his blade from black to red before he fights, strengthening the effectiveness of his blade against Demons even further and allows Tanjiro to perform Dance of the Fire God styles more effectively

KIMETSU NO YAIBA "TANJIRO KAMADO"

TANJIRO KAMADO

Tanjiro Kamado ((竈門 炭治郎 Kamado Tanjirō) the main protagonist of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is hunting down the Demon (Muzan Kibutsuji ) who is responsible for the murder of his family and his sister's (Nezuko Kamado) transformation into one.

Synopsis

The oldest son of a charcoal-seller. His entire family was massacred by a demon while he was selling charcoal, with only his sister Nezuko surviving. His goal is to find a cure for her and turn her back into a human, and it is to this end that he decides to join the Demon Slayer Corps. He initially trained under Urokodaki, learning the "Water Breathing"sword-style, but has since begun to branch out. He began to use his family's Hinokami Kagura (ヒノカミ神楽 lit. Dance of the Fire God) technique as a more powerful form of fighting but later merged it with the Water Breathing techniques to create a more sustainable fighting style. His skull is extremely thick and his head-butts are often used as gags throughout the series. He is a kind-hearted boy and often feels sympathy for demons and their victims. His endless optimism and simple nature often have people enjoy his company, but at the same time, it also puts him at odds with certain personalities. His sword is black. Tanjiro has a heightened sense of smell.

Personality

Tanjiro is kind by nature and has been described by others as having very gentle eyes. He exhibits a great deal of determination and will not give up once he has a goal to achieve; the best example of this being his relentless quest to find a cure for Nezuko. Even though he is relatively strong on his own, Tanjiro isn't opposed to asking others for help when he needs it. He is very protective of his friends and even more so of his younger sister. However, despite his kind and understanding nature, Tanjiro does have a limit to his tolerance and has a distaste for rudeness, as he easily becomes annoyed by Zenitsu Agatsuma's constant whining, and angered by Inosuke Hashibira's barbaric actions.

Abilities and Swordsmanship

Natural Abilities

Enhanced Sense of Smell: Tanjiro has had a heightened sense of smell even before he underwent sword training. It is strong enough for him to smell the 'line of interval' --the slight pause in an enemy's movement which allows him an opening in which to strike-- and distinguish between species, as well as their approximate position. After training this skill during his time as a Demon Hunter, Tanjiro has acquired the ability to smell emotions as well as track objects, humans and demons over long distances.

Fighting ability: This trait of Tanjiro's was pointed out by Giyu Tomioka during their first encounter, in which Tanjiro skilfully laid out a plan to attack Giyu by surprise by charging towards him, not showing the Demon Hunter that he was unarmed, and bring down Giyu with an ax he had thrown in the air beforehand. The attack failed, but Giyu was still very impressed by Tanjiro's plan, especially considering he was a rookie at the time.

Enhanced strength: After his training at Sagiri Mountain, Tanjiro has gained immense strength and speed and has demonstrated a great use of it, as seen when he jumped twice his height over the Hand Demon, who killed Sakonji's disciples, during Final Selection. His forehead is noted to be unusually sturdy as well.

Ability to See-Through: Like his father, he finally gained the ability to foresee the opponent's attack while showing no battle spirit and sense of blood-lust, gaining immunity from anyone who can sense these.

SwordsmanshipDemon Slayer Mark: Tanjiro awakened his mark for the first time while fighting Daki, an Upper Moon Six. He awakened it once again while fighting Akaza, an Upper Moon Three. This state increases his strength, speed and reaction time drastically. He becomes capable of easily dodging and countering Daki's attacks, without her being able to injure him at all. In his fight against Akaza, he can dodge Akaza's End Style: Chaotic Blue Metal Afterglow, which Giyu's Eleventh Style failed to counter. His speed becomes fast enough to cut off Akaza's head, without the latter being able to react. The only drawback is that Tanjiro can only enter this state on rare occasions, and can only use it for a very short period since it causes exhaustion to his body, as shown in his battle against Akaza and Daki. Unlike all the other marks users, Tanjirou can only use the mark for only a very short time while all others can use it for longer than him.

Breath of Water (水みずの呼こ吸きゅう Mizu no kokyū^?): Taught to him by Sakonji, the Water Pillar before Giyu. The user can increase the amount of oxygen in one's blood by controlling his breathing pattern, which increases his strength and agility to equal that of a Demon. Tanjiro has now learned to do full focus breaths at all times, further increasing his base strength, speed, and stamina. With this enhanced strength and ability to find the 'line of the interval,' Tanjiro can utilize ten different moves
